Overview:
Manufacturing engineer responsible for developing manufacturing processes, equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary for the assembly of components. Work is performed in an assembly/plant environment where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as a high level of independent judgment.
Responsible for:
Manufacturing process definition
Sequence of operations
Human factors consideration
Efficient material flow
Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high quality parts
Providing technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources
Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology
Supporting Throughput Improvement Teams (TIP)
Qualifications:
Requires 7
years of experience in the following skill sets:
Deep technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines.
Deep knowledge and ability to implement GMS principles.
Demonstrates excellent level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and significantly complex projects and assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results.
Demonstrated initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output and/or help others.
Proven ability in project management skills.
Experience with Stature and Process Failure Modes Effects and Analysis (PFMEA) concepts and methods.
Experience with Team Center and Parts Finder drawing management systems preferred.
Experience with the Maximo maintenance management systems preferred.
Experience with Engine Assembly processes including:
o Automatic and manual engine assembly processes.
o Automatic parts feeding systems.
o Leak testing processes and instrumentation.
o Engine testing systems for analyzing ignition systems, cam phasing functions, oil system testing, etc.
o Automatic and manual fastening equipment and processes.
Experience with Cylinder Head Assembly equipment and processes.
Education
College degree with major in engineering or equivalent training/experience
10 years of Engine Assembly process experience preferredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
