Truck and Trailer Repair Technician and Mechanic (Second shift)
Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Operate a variety of equipment and machines to perform, repair, and maintenance work; maintain tools and equipment in a safe, clean and proper working condition
- Assist in the purchase, installation, maintenance and repair of electrical wiring and fixtures
- Estimate cost of materials for work orders; obtain competitive prices for equipment and supplies needed
- Perform a variety of skilled building maintenance
- Maintain various records related to labor, materials and work orders
- Purchase tools, equipment and materials
- Perform other duties as assigned
Must have the ability to:
Perform a wide variety of skilled journey-level work in the maintenance and repair of equipment in the facility (electrical, hydraulic, and general maintenance)
- Prioritize, schedule, assign and review work
- Interpret, explain and apply codes, rules and regulations involved in assigned maintenance activities
- Effectively and safely operate a variety of assigned tools and equipment
- Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, sketches and work orders to others
- Understand and follow oral and written directions
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Estimate labor and materials costs
- Work independently with little directio
- Meet schedules and time lines.
- Maintain routine records.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
- Lift heavy objects.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
