Automotive & Equipment Technician
Amerit Fleet Solutions is looking to hire a Automotive/Equipment Technician in the McKinney, TX area! The Mobile Equipment Technician will be responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles including light duty vans, generators, bucket trucks, and aerial equipment. Must have hydraulic, electrical and small engine experience.
Small generator repair. (Kohler and Cummins/Onan generators- diesel, propane, gasoline.) Field service experience required. Responsible for full service maintenance as well as preventative maintenance and DOT inspections.
We're looking for a technician that is a self-starter, motivated, and able to work by themselves. Must possess overall good computer and communication skills, and good diagnostic skills.
Must have a valid driver's license - Service truck, laptop, and gas card provided.
Requirements:
o Must have at least 5 years' experience performing vehicle maintenance or must possess auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school
o Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
o Must be able to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds
o Must provide own tools
o Ability to follow instructions and complete required training
o Intermediate computer skills
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
o Must be able to work with or around chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
Working Conditions:
o Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job
o Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise
o Exposure to climate conditions of the geographic area while working away from the normal work area along highways, streets and overpasses
o Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
Compensation: based off experience, training, and/or certifications. Paid weekly, every Friday.
