Cost Accountant - PHA-52558
Large technological leader in the venting industry is seeking a direct hire Cost Accountant to join their Vacaville team ASAP! Job Duties include but are not limited to:
o Update standard costs in the bill of materials o Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies o Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability o Report on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances o Implement and drive improvements in plant processes and policies o Train and develop personnel, including individuals throughout the organization, in the understanding of standard costing and production variances o Assisting local general manager with capital expenditure justifications and performing financial analysis of different what if scenarios as part of the local decision making process o Assist controller in month-end closing; analyze inventory valuation, and inventory roll forward o Assist controller and local general manager in financial planning & forecasting o Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts, and investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues; and record inventory adjustments in SAP o Analyze and monitor raw material and WIP inventory o Work with the materials review board to locate and dispose of obsolete inventory o Promote control awareness and ensure compliance with Corporate Financial Policies and Procedures o Review internal controls and updates process narratives as required o Lead process improvement initiatives within the department and organization o Perform a critical and challenging role in the organization (a necessary irritant role) Minimum Requirements:
o Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance o 4-6 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment o Broad knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management principles, systems, and procedures o Experience in a MRP environment, such as SAP o Computer systems proficiency o Outstanding communication skills o Detail oriented o Self-directed and driven o Hands on team player with the ability to work with people at all levels Preferred
Qualifications:
o MBA/CPA license o CPA with minimum of 3 years Big 4 accounting experience in manufacturing companies preferred o Experience working with Six Sigma/ Lean Processes About Nelson:
