Jayhawk Pipeline, LLC has an exciting opportunity at our headquarters location in McPherson, Kansas. We are looking for an Electrical Engineer/Designer to prepare designs and specifications related to pipeline electrical equipment, distribution, and control systems, and develop solutions for electrical or controls related issues. You must be detail oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

You will:
Provide recommendations for equipment and installation changes that will improve reliability and efficiency.
Draft designs and layouts of electrical equipment and distribution systems.
Oversee creation and revision of electrical and controls drawings. Examples include one-line diagrams, conduit and wire schedules, loop drawings, etc.
Develop budgetary estimates for both capital and maintenance projects relating to both electrical and controls improvements.
Perform project engineering and/or project management duties to include, but not limited to, writing specifications and requisitions for electrical and controls equipment, selecting vendors and contractors, overseeing work and approving invoices of contracted services.
Provide operational support regarding electrical issues, which may include interfacing with power suppliers regarding power quality issues, or new/additional power requirements.
Troubleshoot and recommend and/or implement solutions to controls-related problems.
Contribute to development and implementation of pipeline facility control strategies.
Develop standards related to electrical and controls equipment regarding operation, installation, and maintenance requirements.
Basic
Qualifications: (required)
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited four-year college or university
Minimum of three years related experience or Licensed Electrician with at least ten years industrial experience, preferably in the pipeline or petrochemical sectors.
Skill in use of various computer programs (including, but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook)
Working knowledge of National Electric Code as applied to industrial environment
Working knowledge of selecting, sizing, and installing conduit and wire, electrical motors, switch gear, transformers, starters, etc.
Preferred
Qualifications: (desired)
Proficiency with or willingness to learn SCADA system, PLC programming (Allen Bradley preferred), and networking
Working knowledge of DOT regulation Part 195.
Liquid pipeline or petrochemical industry experience.
Drafting experience in AutoCad.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
