Alphascript Specialty Pharmacy is seeking full-time pharmacist candidates who are interested in providing the very best in pharmacy care. Our pharmacy specializes in specialty disease state pharmacy services. Candidates are expected to be personable and capable of maintaining strong partnerships with specialty providers and their direct referrals. In addition to strong interpersonal skills, ideal candidates should possess business acumen and a thorough understanding of complex third party billing.
Candidates should have at least 2 years of pharmacist experience in a retail setting. The position is full-time, includes PTO, offers medical benefits, and 401k retirement savings plan.
Education/ Licensure:
Graduate from a school of pharmacy accredited by the ACPE: Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education;
Current California State Board Pharmacist License with no disciplinary actions/violations;
Must meet Pharmacist Competency Requirements
Professional
Experience:
Minimum 2 (two) years of experience providing pharmacy services in a retail setting;
Experience in specialty pharmacy preferred;
Experience developing and implementing programs to improve medication adherence, compliance, persistence, and disease management; preferred
Skills:

Courteous attitude;
Understanding of medical terminology and calculations;
Ability to accurately type at least 45 words per minute;
Knowledge of computer operations;

Knowledge of insurance and third-party payment systems;

Physical Demands:
Sitting, standing, walking; at desk, in office throughout facility and pharmacy.
Operation of office machinery and pharmacy equipment
Occasionally lift/move items up to 40 pounds
Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision
Job Description:
Under the direction of the Pharmacist-In-Charge, pharmacists perform pharmacy-related functions, in compliance with the company's policies and procedures, providing optimal pharmaceutical care.
Duties:
Complies with all applicable company policies, procedures, and patient protocols;
Complies with all current government regulations and professional standards respecting patient care;
Performs pharmaceutical patient assessment (initial and reassessments);
Participates in education and professional programs and or reviews professional literature on an ongoing basis to maintain knowledge and competency;
Maintains an awareness of developments in the community and pharmaceutical fields that relate to job responsibilities and integrate them into practice;
Develops plans to manage the patient's pharmaceutical care and executes the care plan;
Provides pharmaceutical services related to the preparation and dispensing of drugs and other pharmaceutical supplies to patients;
Maintains rapport with ordering physicians. Informs the physicians and pertinent others of the changes in the patient's condition/status. Promotes rational drug therapy to physicians;
Supervises pharmacy staff during business hours;
Answers telephones in a polite and courteous manner, recording all relevant information;
Assists/ Counsels patients who are dropping off or picking up prescription orders;
Reviews incoming prescription information and enters prescription orders into the computer;
Creates and updates patient's health and insurance information in the computer;
At point of sale, verifies that customers receive correct prescription(s);
Communicates with prescribers and their agents to obtain refill authorizations;
Communicates with insurance carriers to obtain payment for prescription claims;
Compounds oral solutions, ointments, and creams;
Assists in maintaining workflow;
Monitors pharmaceutical supply levels and places appropriate orders as approved by the PIC;
Completes weekly distribution center medication orders and verifies all associated paperwork;
Develops technical knowledge of the products and services provided by the pharmacy;
Assembles, troubleshoots, and calibrates patient care equipment;
Assists in resolving patient equipment problems under emergency conditions;
Trains employees, enhancing the knowledge and abilities of pharmacy support staff;
Assists with implementation of quality assurance measures to meet company and accreditation standards;
Maintains knowledge of loss and fraud prevention techniques;
Performs additional duties as required

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
