We are currently seeking and an experienced CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Chicopee, MA. The CNC Machinist's primary responsibility is the machining of components, including CNC turning, drilling and tapping according to specifications. The CNC Machinist is a highly skilled technical role requiring attention to detail, critical thinking and adherence to assembly drawings.
As with all other roles within our Chicopee, MA site, this individual must adhere to all documented safety and manufacturing policies and procedures, as well as be flexible enough to assist in other areas as business needs dictate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Programs lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; tramming heads.
Select proper feeds and speeds for turning, drilling and tapping different types of material.
Write and edit existing programs in G&M code to translate engineering drawings and requirements into compliant hardware.
Demonstrated understanding of shop mathematics together with engineering drawings, specifications, and various types of precision measuring instruments.
Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards.
Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Responsible for day-to-day maintenance on machines; maintain neat and clean working area, including the removal and disposal of machined chips from machine base.
Notify management of any malfunctions, including machine crashes and tool breakage.
Wear and maintain proper safety equipment including proper footwear and safety glasses.
Assist in other areas of manufacturing as required.
Work in a safe manner at all times following established policies and procedures.
Other duties may be assigned.

Technical Skills:
Demonstrated mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
Ability to read and understand blue print drawings.
Demonstrated ability to operate manual lathe machinery.
Ability to follow established manufacturing procedures.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. One to three years specialized training in the machining trades is desired.
One to three years specific experience with CNC machinery.
Requires the understanding of shop mathematics together with engineering drawings, specifications, and various types of precision measuring instruments.
Computer literacy required.
Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of set-ups, operations and processes within the limitations of established or standard methods and procedures.
Constant alertness and continuous mental and visual attention required to monitor machining.
Ability to work as a team member.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
