Bristol-Myers Squibb has announced plans for an expansion of its large-scale biologics manufacturing facility in Devens, Massachusetts.
The expansion will create a mammalian cell biologics center of excellence through the introduction of biologics development and clinical trial manufacturing capabilities to the site.
Both represent new capabilities for Devens, a site that in its early years has focused solely on large-scale, bulk biologics manufacturing.
The Devens site is currently seeking a Metrology Sr Associate to work apx 6AM-4PM Wednesday to Saturday.
The Metrology Senior Associate will work in a team, interacting with numerous department, vendors, and service providers, throughout the site.

Responsibilities:
o Performs Corrective, Preventative, and Predictive calibration and maintenance for instrumentation.
o Performs, as needed, a variety of installation, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on complex laboratory, process and utility instrumentation, working closely with the Maintenance, Operations and Automation groups, in a paperless work environment, following SOPs in a cGMP facility.
o Assists in qualification activities related to instrumentation and calibration.
o Participates in emergency closing and shutdown activities as required by shift to support operations.
o Provides technical support as Metrology SME for engineering projects towards improvement of processing equipment, utilities and facilities instrumentation.
o Participates in cross functional teams to support business needs.
Qualifications o Knowledge of science generally attained through studies resulting in a B.
S.
in science, engineering, or related discipline.
o A minimum of two years experience with calibration and instrumentation preferred.
o Knowledge of both calibration and maintenance of instrumentation on biotech manufacturing equipment.
o General understanding of operating principles of industrial instrumentation and control systems.
o Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot engineering drawings, P&IDs, and electrical schematics.
o General understanding of basic relay ladder logic, programmable logic controllers, and control systems.
o General understanding of Device Net and Foundation Fieldbus instrumentation.
o Must be able to lift 50 pounds, be able to work off from ladders and scaffolding and able to wear appropriate PPE when necessary.
o Prior evidence of successful participation on work teams where combined contribution, collaboration, and results were expected.
Work experience where attention to detail and personal accountability were critical to success o Demonstrated proficiency in common computer tools such as word processing, spreadsheet and web based applications.
Experience in Maximo or similar computer based calibration program, DeltaV, and AMS highly desirable.
o Demonstrates good interpersonal skills, is attentive and approachable.
Maintains a professional and productive relationship with area management and co-workers.
