Community Support Specialist

Basic Job Duties
Provides case management services to a caseload of consumers with serious mental illness (SMI). Assesses consumers overall functioning, identifying problems, needs, skill strengths and deficits, and participates in the development of the consumer centered plan. Implements selected aspects of the plan in teaching, counseling and support to a caseload. Ensures consumer linkages to community service providers, entitlement programs and housing alternatives.
Education/Training Requirements
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four year college or university in the human services field and must have at least one year of direct care experience working with person with disabilities. Must be able to achieve Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) status.
Skills Required
Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, have good social and assessment skills, and ability to work both independently as well as part of a team. Must have a commitment to work with persons with disabilities and demonstrates a belief in the principles of recovery and empowerment for persons with disabilities. Willingness to work flexible hours and basic computer navigation and word processing skills essential.
Other Requirements
Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and be insurable. Also must obtain and maintain Blood Borne Pathogens, OIG, Corporate Compliance and Security Rules. CPR and First Aid training after hired.
Employment is conditional upon passing all criminal background checks.

SALARY:
$12.50 - $15.00 per hourEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
