Job Description: Our Client in the Houston, TX area is looking for a Production Engineer.
POSITION
Summary: This position provides technical engineering support to daily production
operations. This position is cross functional covering technical engineering support of plant operations
and coordinating the transition/scale-up of newly developed products into plant production. This
position acts as backup supervisor to the plant during the Operations Manager's absence and
participates in Process Safety Management (PSM) activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Provides technical engineering support to assist with the daily production operations of the Bayport
facility.
Gathers data and monitors daily performance of batch and continuous chemical manufacturing
processes using Statistical Process Control tools as necessary to determine degree of control of
process variables.
Analyzes data to troubleshoot problems with the chemical manufacturing processes.
Collects, records, and reports on production data by campaign including post production run
evaluations and monthly operating reports.
Helps prepare daily action plans through direction and team planning with the Operations
Manager.
Updates operating manuals, process changes, and project status reports as required.
Troubleshoots problems with batch and continuous chemical manufacturing processes.
Leads production problem solving teams as required.
Plans and conducts plant trials for the purpose of obtaining information useful for increasing
production rates and/or improving quality and yield.
Evaluates production equipment and processes to identify ways to optimize performance while
ensuring compliance with safety and environment regulations.
Educates and coaches operations personnel and new employees in operating techniques to
improve their understanding of the process.
2. Coordinates the transition/scale-up of new development projects into plant production.
Assists with translating lab and pilot-scale run data into process operating procedures.
Helps to write detailed process operating procedures for plant operations.
Assists in the planning and execution of new projects and plant trials as required.
3. Acts as backup technical support during the Operations Manager's absences.
4. Performs Process Safety Management tasks as requested.
Completes redline updates on Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID).
Completes Pre Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).
Updates Process Safety Information (PSI) records.
Participates on HAZOP teams
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Experience, Education, and Special Certifications.)
1. Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
2. Seven years' experience in a batch and continuous petrochemical manufacturing facility.
3. Good understanding of process optimization in petrochemical plants.
4. Experience analyzing and troubleshooting batch and continuous process production issues.
5. Proficient with computer software applications, preferably Microsoft Office Suite,
ChemCAD (or similar) simulation software.
6. Prior experience supervising and/or leading groups preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Knowledge of batch and continuous petrochemical production processes.
2. Knowledge of safety and environmental standards related to petrochemical production.
3. General knowledge of process optimization in a petrochemical production facility.
4. Strong and through troubleshooting, problem solving and analytical skills.
5. Ability to work well under pressure and execute competing demands effectively in a fast paced
work environment.
6. Ability to follow up and follow through with assigned work tasks on a timely basis.
7. Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees and external
vendors.
8. Ability to identify complex problems, review related information, evaluate options, and
implement solutions timely.
9. Ability to take the initiative to carry out assigned duties with general direction.
10. Ability to articulate ideas and information verbally and in writing in a clear, concise, and
professional manner.
11. Effective organizational skills.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
