Local RN (Contract)
Urgent LOCAL RN Position! Position will be for the following hours and candidate must be able to commit to 3-5 days per week, for 12 weeks.
Mon - Fri @ 7-330pm and some 830-5pm
Most likely 3-5 days a week.
1 year of OR experience required and 6 months of Orthopedics experience required.
The Registered Nurse provides quality-nursing care in accordance with the California Nurse Practice Act, incorporates peri-operative care modalities and utilizes the nursing process, based on evidence-based outcomes to meet patient care needs. The population served is the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient requiring surgical or procedural intervention. The RN may care for patients requiring the orthopedic, through a continuum of care including pre-procedure, intra-procedure and post-procedure.
o Participates in maintaining a safe patient care environment. Demonstrates leadership skills by directing personnel and establishing collegial relationships with others. Demonstrates competence and sensitivity in caring for multicultural patient/families by adapting the Plan of Care based on cultural needs identified. Follows evidence based clinical standards when formulating the patient Plan of Care/problem list. Demonstrates ability to work in a multicultural team environment and is respectful of the cultural diversity of the workforce and patients we serve.
o Projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct. Supports the Center's mission. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures. This knowledge may include the use of specialized instrumentation, Quality Control requirements, and preventive maintenance. Performs other duties as assigned.
o The nurse is obtaining knowledge and experience in clinical and technical skills.
o The nurse is guided by policies, procedure and standards. They are building a knowledge base through practice and are most comfortable in a task environment. They describe a clinical situation from the viewpoint of what they need to do rather than relating the context of the situation or how the patient responds. They practice from a theoretical knowledge base while they recognize and provide for routine patient needs.
o This nurse integrates theoretical knowledge with clinical experience in the case of patients and families. This nurse demonstrates mastery of most technical skills, and begins to view clinical situations from a patient and family focus.
