Department Name GENERAL CHEMISTRY Job Description POSITION SUMMARYNonexempt (Hourly - Eligible for overtime) To collect blood from patients or donors at the hospital.
To transport the blood samples for analysis and other medical purposes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSHigh School diploma, certificate of high school course work completion or GED required.
High School diploma, or equivalent required.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLSGreets patients and answers phones in the lab when required.
Charts daily reports as required.
Assists in training new employees and students in the department.
Cleans and maintains the equipment throughout the department on a daily basis.
Determines priority of STAT draws.
Ensures timely transport of all patient specimens to lab for testing.
Identifies patients and properly labels specimen tubes with two patient identifiers.
