Maintenance Manager

JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Manager, oversees and manages the maintenance functions involving facilities and equipment pertaining to the plant specifically, maintaining a high state of readiness while working closely with fellow maintenance supervisors and staff.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
The following are essential job accountabilities:
Maintain confidentiality in all areas pertaining to work and employees.
Punctual scheduling of all mechanics.
Responsible for the consistent administration of company policies to all assigned employees. Proactive work with operations management team and Human Resources to effectively resolve employee relations issues.
Coordinate the activities of all maintenance staff shifts.
Full implementation of preventative maintenance programs and ongoing maintenance programs.
Extensive knowledge/experience with ammonia refrigeration systems
Responsible for purchasing various products required for plant operations.
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyer systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications, troubleshooting malfunctions.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Work with Plant management to gain consensus on operational and project priorities. Must be able to adjust schedules and shift priorities as necessary to be effective and consistent with current operational requirements.
Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists cranes and power tools. Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand and power tools. Fabricates repair parts and supplies using shop instruments and equipment.
Maintain facility and associated equipment in a high state of repair operability. Maintains equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipts.
Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Full interaction with Plant Manager to ensure budgetary compliance and cost control.
Full participation in the Emergency Response Team.
Trainer, coach mentor in the continuing efforts to advance mechanics skills.
Maintain personal skill levels consistent with changes within the company.
Assume mechanics role when the situations requires it.
Interaction and communication with other departments within the company.
Manage plant supervisor and oversee all employees assigned to the maintenance department.
The following job accountabilities may also be assigned:
Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Preferred Education:Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum
Experience:
Five (5) years in industrial maintenance and supervisory responsibility, preferable
in a food processing operations Environment.

Over Five (5) years industrial maintenance and supervisory
responsibility, preferable in a food processing operations environment.

Minimum Field of Expertise:
Experience with industrial electrical installation and troubleshooting, and at least four of the following areas: ammonia refrigeration, TIG welding, general mechanical, basic hydraulics, steam boilers & generators, pneumatics, packaging machinery, HVAC service, plumbing, industrial safety, industrial wastewater treatment

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
