Painting Apprentice

JP Race Painting, Inc. is currently searching for a Painting Apprentice. Employee will be responsible for preparation, painting and inspection of walls, ceilings, frames, doors, etc. As a Painting Apprentice you will develop the skills to apply coats of paint, varnish, stain, or enamel to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings, and other structures. Related Instruction classes are part of the requirements of the program.
Current OSHA 10 classes is preferred but not required. If new hire does not hold a current card, they will be required to take the course.
Required Skills:
o Basic reading ability required to identify paints and solvents.
o Ability to interact and communicate with students, faculty, staff, and co-workers.
o Ability to complete necessary training for this job classification.
o Ability to comprehend and follow directions.
o Requires sound decision making skills.
o Must comply with company safety rules and OSHA standards.
o Must be flexible to working different shifts.
o Must have cell phone.
o Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
o Must be neat and have good craftsmanship.
Physical Requirements
o Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces and have the ability to climb staircases and ladders of varying sizes.
o Must be able to continuously push/pull, stand and work with arms extended at shoulder level.
o Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 lbs.
o May be required to pass a drug screening.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
