Staff Accountant - P&C Accounting
We are seeking qualified and highly motivated candidates for a Property & Casualty Staff Accountant position in Chubb's Accounting Department located in the Global Headquarters in Warren, NJ.
The Accounting Department's overriding goal is to provide accurate financial results and related analysis to all users of such information, including internal management, regulatory authorities, shareholders, security analysts and rating agencies.
The Property & Casualty reporting area within the Accounting Department is responsible for preparing and filing the statutory financial statements for Chubb's US Property & Casualty insurance subsidiaries.
These filings are performed on a quarterly basis and other supplemental financial/regulatory filings are due at various times throughout the year.
This position is primarily responsible for various aspects of the statutory financial reporting process including:
o The financial statement preparation for multiple companies in the group.
Analyzing financial results and investigating significant fluctuations or unusual resultso Preparing various other financial related schedules and reportso Investigating and responding to requests/inquiries from management and other internal/external users of financial informationo Maintaining regulatory compliance for approximately ten states to ensure that Chubb's Property and Casualty insurance companies meet all necessary filing requirements and reporting regulationso Participating in special projects as they relate to the reporting functionCompetencies/Technical SkillsRequires very strong accounting, analytical, research, documentation and communication skills; strong organizational skills; ability to plan, prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely and effective manner; working knowledge and understanding of the Microsoft Suite, ability to learn and effectively utilize FOCUS, Essbase, financial statement preparation software and the PeopleSoft General Ledger System.
Education Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a minimum GPA overall and in major of 3.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
