Department Name NUCLEAR MEDICINE Job Description POSITION SUMMARYNonexempt (Hourly - Eligible for overtime) To perform technical examinations and procedures according to specialty.
To direct and lead department functional activities and assignments of technical staff to accomplish daily workload.
To ensure service development, personnel management and resource allocation and control in order to support and enhance patient care.
To lead the service provided within that modality and regularly provide patient care in that modality.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSPreferred to be American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered and Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) credential with two (2) years of related experience or must be Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certified with two (2) years of related experience.
Work experience may substitute for minimum education requirement.

Keeps records of tests conducted, test results, use, and disposition of isotopes.
Operates gamma camera and related computers.
Prepares radioactive isotopes for administration to patients.
Schedules staff according to patient volume to ensure productivity targets are met.
Engages staff in all quality assurance initiatives throughout the department to ensure compliance.
Observes strict precautions in handling isotopes to safeguard against overexposure to radiation.
Interviews prospective employees and recommends for hire.
Recommends disciplinary action for current employees when needed.
