DONOR RELATIONS SPECIALIST- SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Full Time


POSITION SUMMARY
The Foundation Development Specialist assists in advancing the Foundation's donor-centered fundraising model and working as part of the team to meet aggressive revenue goals. Specifically, they will be charged with the management of the stewardship process and informing our donors about the value of their gifts to the organization through web, social media, and written and electronic communications. The Development Specialist also works directly with the Board of Trustees ensuring that they are well informed and appreciated and supports major gift and physician solicitations. The specialist assists with special projects and other activities related to the cultivation, solicitation, recognition and stewardship of Barton Foundation donors as needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a major course of study in public relations, communications, or other liberal arts.

Minimum
Experience:
At least three years' experience working in a communications or fundraising capacity.

Preferred
Experience:
Experience with large fundraising programs and events.
Experience with donor solicitation and volunteer/board management.
Experience developing content for social media, web, and newsletters.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of fundraising campaigns; annual and major gift solicitation
Knowledge of donor cultivation and stewardship.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to adjust communication style for the target audience.
Must be detail oriented, creative, and have strong financial management skills
Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills a must. In Design, Raiser's Edge and social media skills a plus.
In compliance with patient safety standards, must be able to effectively communicate in English; Bilingual abilities preferred

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
