Scope of the Position: Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on production equipment throughout the plant with the goal of keeping equipment operational to maintain production of quality parts to specifications and within a reasonable time when problems occur due to mechanical or electrical failures.
Responsibilities:
o Troubleshoot, diagnose equipment failures, and identify root cause for electrical equipment throughout plant, using both hardware and software
o Read and understand electrical schematics and effectively trouble-shoot electrical controls
o Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments
o Maintain a safe and orderly work environment
o Perform preventative maintenance procedures and techniques
o Install control and distribution devices such as switches, relays and distribution panels
o Design and install wiring and programs for equipment
o Install or repair lighting and upkeep of the physical facility
o Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials
o Avoid unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes
o Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit
o Use the following test equipment: Ohm/voltmeter, ammeter and oscilloscope

Desired Skills & Experience

Qualifications
MUST HAVE:
o Preferably five years of Electrician experience in a plastics injection molding manufacturing environment
o Basic knowledge of: mechanical systems or has mechanical aptitude, hydraulics pneumatics, robots, hydraulic presses, and mechanical presses
o Knowledge of PLC, ladder logic, prox's and sensors
PREFERRED:
o Journeyman card
o Experience with robotics
