Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

The person hired for this job will have the following profile:
High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent required.
Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience
Professional experience as a journeyman level electrical technician; Two-year vocational training in electrical technology is preferred
Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers, Servo and Frequency Drive.
Proven safety record and working knowledge of industrial safety procedures
Willing to work as-needed and on-call as needed
Self-motivated and capable of working with little or no supervision
Effective oral and written skills are necessary
Ability to be part of a multifunctional/multi-skilled maintenance organization with a willingness to flow and to work as required by plant production priorities
As an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician you'll be responsible for maintaining all of the electrical and instrumentation equipment at the Morehouse BioEnergy site in Bastrop, LA. You'll be responsible for performing routine maintenance as required and assisting the Maintenance Manager in creating a strategic direction for maintaining the facility's electrical equipment.
Additional job duties will include (but are not be limited to):
Inspection, testing, adjustment, calibration and repairs of electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems used to indicate, and record findings.
Inspection of meters, indicators, and gauges to detect abnormal fluctuations
Maintaining a functional knowledge of the operation software and hardware
Make preventative maintenance inspections of all control instrumentation
Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical failures and the aptitude to correct those failures
Complete work order cycles, perform work, confirm time and enter equipment history
Works closely with all team members to ensure each task is completed in a safe and efficient manner
Assist other team members in the plant to minimize downtime and maintain quality
Comply with all company policies as well as local, state and federal laws/regulations
Make periodic preventative maintenance inspections of all metering control instruments
Diagnose existing or potential trouble with plant electrical equipment
Clean, lubricate, calibrate and adjust as conditions indicate
Lay out, install and place electrical equipment into service
Prepare schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in instruments, circuits, and systems
Other duties as assigned
