POSITION
Summary:
Select, develop and manage supply base for existing production material. Maintain competitive pricing, with emphasis on cost reductions, quality and supplier delivery performance.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Negotiates long-term agreements for series production components.
Purchases turbocharger components using strategic purchasing.
Plans, organizes, tracks and disseminates information related to production suppliers.
Formulates supply base strategies (global / local).
Develops metrics to measure progress against corporate goals.
Supports global corporate purchasing activities.
Participates in Purchasing Council conference calls.
Participates in Purchasing Council meetings.
Supports Senior Supply Chain Council sub-committee activity.
Selects suppliers for existing products through effective use of proven procurement skills in an automotive environment (TS16949, AIAG).
Continually reduces year-over-year costs through aggressive negotiations, Value Analysis, Long Term Agreements as well as supply base and industry knowledge.
Recommends supplier process utilization by interpreting blueprints and evaluating customer needs.
Explores available technology and implements best practices related to purchasing activities.
Develops new suppliers that meet BW cost, quality and delivery requirements.
Prepares RFQ's for multi-year full production quantities.
Evaluates part designs with engineering, quality and suppliers to obtain optimum efficiencies.
Participates in purchasing related internal meetings, including making presentations to senior management.
Maintains complex spreadsheets containing supply base data.
Understands and adheres to current quality and control policies.
Understands and adheres to current health, safety, and environmental policies.
Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related field
Requires at least 3 years of purchasing experience (automotive and/or manufacturing).
Must have at least 1 year of practical experience in the procurement of casting and machined components
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
Proficiency with Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook) is required.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must have strong negotiation skills.
CPM certification preferred.



Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
