Accounting Manager


Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible for establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems. This position ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions and oversees all financial functions including ERP management, accounting, budget, credit, insurance, and taxes. This position will rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Responsibilities

Establishes, monitors and enforces accounting principles, practices, procedures and initiatives.
Protects assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls.
Complete oversight and management of Departments identified and the related tasks that include:
Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable, collections, corporate tax payments, credit management
Manages budgets and controls expenses effectively
Oversee the preparation of internal financial statements and annual reporting; review account analysis and reconciliations, General Ledger and related accounting
Conducts and/or arranges for audits as required and appropriate
Supply Chain and inventory management including purchasing, tracking and forecasting
Warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, repairs
Risk Management / Liability Insurance Management (G/L, Umbrella, Auto, EPLI,)
Records maintenance
FDA inspections, CARB and OSHA labeling responsibilities
Management of ERP and development and maintenance of associated workflows
Oversee vendor contractors, including negotiations
Provides status of the financial condition by collecting, interpreting and reporting key financial data and appropriate recommendations to CEO
Ensures compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports. Advises CEO of actions and potential risks.
Oversee Team Leaders and Team Members by coaching, training, problem-solving, professional development, appropriate corrective action, timely performance reviews
Identify and recommend productivity, customer service and process enhancements
Keeps up to date on information, emerging technology and strategy skills to increase innovation, organize, automate and synchronize various aspects of area of responsibility
Establishes and approves policies and procedures, internal financial controls and other related documentation as needed
Identify, institute and manage reporting and metrics for key measurements in assigned Departments
Additional projects as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a business, financial or related field or the equivalent of fifteen years relevant experience; Master's degree a plus
10
years of practical experience in Finance or Accounting in a senior level position
5
years management and leadership experience
Outstanding written and oral communication skills
MS Office capable (Outlook, Powerpoint, Word, Excel)
Knowledge of ERP Systems (NetSuite a plus)
Membership in a related professional organization a plus
