Personal Financial Representative

Under the general supervision of the Branch Manager, the Personal Financial Representative is responsible for servicing member's financial needs and transactional requests as related to all aspects of their accounts. The focus of the position is to educate members on credit union products and services to expand their total financial relationship. Provide members with exceptional service in accordance with the core values of the credit union. Perform all basic functions of branch operations in the areas of Consumer Lending, new and deposit accounts and teller services. Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor. The Personal Financial Representative may be assigned to other branches in the Region based on business needs.
Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

Meets individual standards in branch productivity which support the achievement of team goals.
Responsible for proactive sales initiatives. Identify follow-up activities in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
Build positive relationships with members, assess member requirements, and recommend financial solutions.
Must understand and perform Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) functions as applicable to job responsibilities.
Attend credit union training sessions, conferences or seminars as approved by supervisor. Maintain awareness of policies and regulations related to duties and responsibilities.
Achieves established member service rating goals (Based on Quarterly Surveys).
Display mutual respect, trust and dignity, acting in the best interest of the credit union. Lead by example by displaying solid ethics and integrity at all times. Control risk and manage operations in a safe and sound manner.
Ability to understand, open and discuss Trust Accounts and IRAs.
Display a thorough understanding of home equity loans and be able to discuss and process accurately.
Frequently performs all consumer loan, new/deposit account and teller functions to maintain working knowledge of essential functions, products and services.
Perform all credit union functions as needed while following credit union policy, procedures and guidelines.
Confirm new member identification and financial history meets standards required by the credit union prior to granting account and service access.
Manage areas of responsibility in a safe and sound manner at all times.
Utilize appropriate resources to resolve routine and complex member problems accurately and effectively accomodate member's requests the first time.
Maintain and protect all sensitive data utilizing the highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism. Consistently display respect for all areas of diversity and levels of knowledge.
Ability to assist members with deceased-owner accounts and other complicated accounts and perform proper distribution.
Display and support Gesa Leadership Value, Branch Service Standards and Internal Service Standards.
Report for work on time, as scheduled by the supervisor. Regular attendance is an essential/significant function of this position.
Basic
Qualifications:
Equivalent to a two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school; or equivalent additional experience.
One (1) to three (3) years similar or related experience.
Possess NMLS Mortgage Loan Originator Identification (MLO) Number or meets requirements to obtain NMLS MLO Identification Number.
Experience with standard office equipment, MS Office and Outlook software and teller programs.
Demonstrated and sustained interpersonal skills to relate effectively and professionally to members, the public, and colleagues.
Some travel may be required to fulfill duties, career development, and/or responsibilities.
A valid Driver's License is required.
Credit Union experience in a financial institution or in a retail or service related position including lending, new accounts, or a combination.
Must pass background and credit check

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
