Junior to Mid-Level Environmental Biologist Overall Role /
Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Junior to Lid Level Environmental Biologist with at least 1
years of experience to join our biological resources and conservation team in Rocklin.
Main job duties include: Conduct vegetation/habitat mapping, presence/absence surveys for sensitive plants and animals, and assist in wetland delineations; prepare biological resource components of environmental analyses, support permit applications for the Corps of Engineers, US Fish and Wildlife Service, California Fish and Game, and the California Regional Water Quality Control Board; and assist in the design and implementation of habitat restoration projects. Experience with Caltrans environmental document requirements and transportation projects a plus.
Junior to Mid-Level Environmental Biologist position requires:
- Must have at least 1
years of related environmental biology work experience (preferable with an environmental consulting firm)
- Bachelors degree in biology or wildlife conservation
- Environmental onsite field work experience
- GIS skills consistent with mapping and report preparation
- Experience working with biological resources, wetlands, and the regulatory arena, especially in Californias Central Valley preferred
- Experience with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) preferred but not required
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good technical report writing and critical thinking skills.
