Staff Nurse (Operating Room) - Intermittent

Newly hired intermittent nursing staff are required to attend a one week nursing orientation program during the third week of the first or second month following entry on duty.
This requires full-time daytime availability during that week.
Operating Room Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application ofscientific nursing principles.
In addition to general nursing care, responsibilities of OR Nurses include (but are notlimited to):
Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient careplansConducts pre- and post-operative educationServes as the communication liaison to family and members of the operating teamTakes and monitors patients' vital signsEnsures that operating on correct patient and the correct procedure is being performedProvides basic, bedside carePrepares and administers (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications.
Reportsadverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration ofmedications by a licensed registered nurseResponds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocolRecords all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate formatand on the appropriate formsPreps operating room for patient/procedureInitiates corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatologyMonitors patients' physical and emotional well-being throughout the care continuumInitiates patient education plan, as prescribed by physician.
Teaches patients and significant others how tomanage their post-treatment home care needs, self-administration of medication and rehabilitationPerforms other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment settingDuring the surgical procedure, OR Nurses can take the role of:
Circulating Nurse, with the following additional duties:
Assists in positioning, responding to comfort/safety of patientProvides for accurate care and handling of specimensObserves and enforces strict standards of asepsisObserves, checks and monitors all equipment used during surgery to confirm they are running smoothlyHandles patient documentationInventories all items both pre- and post-surgeryScrub Nurse, with the following additional duties:
Selects and handles instruments and supplies used for the operation, passing them to surgeonInventories all items both pre- and post-surgeryNurses First Assist, with the following additional duties:
Delivers direct surgical care by assisting physiciansHelps control bleedingProvides wound exposureSutures patients after the surgeryDepending on setting, may also:
Direct care provided by licensed practical nurses and nursing aidesFloat among various clinical services, where qualified and competentOther
Responsibilities:
Completes required orientation as directed by facilityFollows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignmentFollows facility and GHR Unusual Occurrence ProtocolRespects cultural and religious practices of patientsUpholds HIPAA regulationsPunctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shiftsPREFERRED
Experience:
A minimum of one year of Operating Room experience preferred.
REQUIRED
Experience:
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required, or soon to achieve.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
