Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED certificate is required.
State of Minnesota, 2-A License or higher; must meet the state licensing requirements for the applicable state of operation.
Minimum of one year prior boiler operator experience required.
The successful applicant must be able to:
Completely describe the operating principles of a coal-fired boiler.
Completely describe the operating principles of a steam boiler.
Describe emergency procedures to be followed in the case of mechanical, control or process-induced problems with the boiler and turbine.
Demonstrate basic knowledge of steam and all its characteristics.
Read the operating board instrumentation water-level gauges and use the computerized control systems to control boiler operation and turbine operation.
Complete all logs, checklists, etc.

Must be able to perform duties of Coal Handler when required.
Read and understand written information.
Must be able to reference, read and understand how to use MSDS information.
Certification for forklift and manlift is required.
Adhere to established Company safety and sanitation guidelines.
Be medically evaluated; fit tested and trained to use SCBA's in an emergency situation that would have to safely shutdown critical operations where abandonment would create a safety hazard.
To the extent any employee is designated or becomes year round, and is assigned to inter-campaign maintenance, he or she will be expected to obtain the minimum required tools for inter-campaign.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Major Duties:
Maintains maximum boiler efficiency while operating a coal-fired boiler and a steam boiler.
Completes emergency procedures in the case of mechanical, control or process-induced problems with the boiler and turbine.
Operates and monitors ash-handling system and electro-static precipitators.

Controls boiler operation with computerized control systems and turbine operation and reads operating board instrumentation water-level gauges.
Performs maintenance and repairs in the boiler house, as directed.
Completes the required boiler operation documentation, including logs, checklists, etc.
Ensures established Company safety and sanitation guidelines are followed.
Wears personal protection as required.
Performs Coal Handler duties when required.
Performs other duties as required.
Required to work overtime as needed.
Work Environment:
Occasionally exposed to confined spaces, steam, and wet, humid, cold or extreme heat environments.
Job tasks are occasionally performed at high elevations, on uneven surfaces, and under severe loud noise conditions (above 85 dbs) in which fall and hearing protection is required.
Employees are required to enter boilers and tanks for inspections.
Occasional expo- sure to welding fumes, gases, vapors and particulates requires respiratory protection.
Occasional exposure to vibration (power tools) and non-ionizing radiation (welding) requires anti-vibration gloves and welding shields/curtains.
Must be able to drive forklifts, pick-ups, man lifts, and lift equipment.
Exposure to moving equipment requires lockout procedures.
Irregular work hours with overtime.
Physical/Cognitive Requirements:
Must be able to carry 50 pounds occasionally (lifting more than 50 pounds requires assistance).
Bending and twisting is done frequently while squatting and kneeling is done occasionally, stair climbing and ladder climbing is required.
Wrist position deviates from neutral position frequently as does repetitive hand/wrist motion and use of hand tools.
Occasionally push or pull on carts, chains, pulleys, and comealongs.
Manual dexterity needed with frequent motor movement.
Maximum workload capacity each day is of moderate energy requirements.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety procedures and MSDS information, detailed blueprints, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals is required.
Ability to understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
