Cost Analyst

Accurately maintain the standard costing environment including system controls, structure, and standard cost rolls
Identify, review, and explain manufacturing variances
Month end close processes, journal entries, and analyses
Cost center reporting, validation, and attestation of Sku's with the ability to bridge actual variances versus budgets
Reconcile cost/production/inventory systems to the balance sheet
Raw egg, ingredient, packaging, WIP, and finished good inventory cutoff procedures (including in-transit accounting)
Support forecasting of monthly material usage and spend based on sales demand at direction of assistant controller
Generate weekly production dashboard to measure against key performance indicators
Generate models and tools to create efficiencies and manage by exception reports
Collaborate with conducted cost studies and prepare/present findings and recommendations
Financial partnership on future production changes (expansion/reductions, efficiencies/impact)
Collaborate with Operations in conducting capital investment analysis
Audit internal controls at plant level and identify areas of cost reduction/control
Support, create, and update standard operating procedures (SOP's) and accounting policies
Support annual budgeting process and capital requisition requests
Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity and sustained certification of the SQF system
Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring
Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party audits
Perform other tasks as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required:
BS/BA major in Accounting
5 years' experience in accounting field
Strong background and understanding of accounting concepts following US GAAP
Strong background in a standard costing environment with a fundamental understanding of activity based costing
Essential function of the job: requires teamwork and developing strong relationships with co-workers
Attention to detail
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Multi-tasking and organizational skills
Independent Self-Starter/Team Player
Experience in computer based accounting systems (Sage MAS 200, BatchMaster)
Computer Skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint, Internet
Mathematical Skills: General Arithmetic/Basic Algebra/Percentages/Fractions
Office equipment-phones, fax, copier, printers, keyboard, ten-key
Preferred:
Liquid Processing experience with exposure to solids and yield calculations
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
