Position Summary
Develop and maintain trade finance business to promote the profitability of our Global Trade Services (GTS). Identify markets within the Bank's customer base or outside it. Responsible for the development of new international trade finance service relationships, primarily through proactive involvement with line relationship managers to generate significant trade finance fee and interest income. Works independently under minimal supervision.
Position Accountabilities
1. Jointly cultivate clients and prospects with relevant Relationship Managers of CBG and RBG to develop prospects for sale of trade finance solutions such as receivable purchase, trade cycle finance, standby letter of credit, import or export letters of credit, documentary collections, government-guaranteed programs. Sells to and maintains contact with major accounts in conjunction with account managers.
2. Identify markets within the Bank's customer base or outside of it. Consults with prospects and customers to identify needs and recommend the trade finance solutions to meet those needs. Demonstrates services/products to customers. Generate the targeted amount of new business revenues in a given year.
3. Reconciles most trade finance sales issues and answers questions concerning supply chain finance as well as documentary products independently.
4. Regularly leads phone and physical meetings with prospects, alone or together with the assigned relationship manager.
5. Serves as liaison between current and potential customers and the bank to resolve questions regarding products/services.
6. Ensures deals are properly documented and booked. Works with Legal, Operations, and Middle Office.
7. Knows the largest GTS clients in assigned territory and builds rapport. Constantly implements changes to retain the GTS relationship, preserve revenues and prevent attrition.
8. Writes credit support memos explaining the risks and how they are mitigated under the proposed structure so that credit management can make an informed decision.
Qualifications
Required Education or Equivalent Experience
Bachelor's Degree required
Required Experience
7 to 10 years of directly related experience
Field of Experience
Complete knowledge of trade finance products and services with demonstrated sales capability
Minimum of 7 years progressively increasing experience in international trade finance.
