Plant Accountant

We are seeking a Plant Accountant to join our team at our Danville, VA plant.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
(All other duties as assigned)
Primary responsibility is payroll
May help with for ledgers, preparation of journal entries; fixed assets, inventory accounting, cost accounting
Records range of financial transactions
May participate in month end and year end closing
Project accounting
May assist with cost reports, P&L statements, balance sheets, etc
May help with reconciling all inventory accounts Provides assistance to Plant Controllers to ensure that divisional accounting policies are followed, and controls are followed
May assist with monthly Sarbanes Oxley reporting/ execution
SCOPE AND IMPACT:
Scope: Familiarity and involvement with all aspects of financial reporting (i.e. historical, budgeting, and forecasting). Needs to be familiar with responsibilities of Plant Controller in event of Plant Controller absence.
Impact: Accurate financial reporting, compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal control documentation, and efficient cost efficient operation of plant
Position Requirements
EDUCATION AND
Experience:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent in accounting, finance or a related business field
1-4 years related work experience preferred
Experience in SAP and/or ERP is preferred
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
This position reports to the Plant Controller.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
There may be some travel associated with this position for training and/or project work.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
