Automotive Transportation Manager - High Level
This position will be responsible for all operational and financial aspects of the company's fleet operations. This will include managing and leading JMN fleet and terminal managers, drivers as well lease-on operators providing transportation services to JMN's customers. This position will also directly interface with JMN's customers in an effort to build and maintain positive working relationships on behalf of the company. This position will work with Chief Operating Officer and Sales in developing new business opportunities by participating in the RFI and RFQ process. In addition, monitoring revenues and expenses, and managing the performance of the P&L for the Transportation Department will be a primary responsibility for this position.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for P&L/Budget management for Transportation Department.
Ensures the customer's service expectations are met, including achieving all service levels metrics and quality performance goals for transportation services.
Communicates and interacts with customers and various internal functional departments (i.e. IT, HR, Accounting, etc.) in order to resolve issues, capitalize on opportunities and improve business and service performance.
Development and implementation of continual improvement processes and activities across all areas/aspects of the operation of the company's fleet and the Transportation Department.
Responsible for conducting analysis of the fleet operations and implementing strategies to improve the performance of the business and position the department to grow as needed to support our transportation service programs with JMN customers.
Prepares various reports and analysis as required by the customer or JMN management.
Other duties as assigned or needed to achieve business and service performance objectives of the Transportation Department and/or the company.
Manages directly or through location managers the internal fleet operations staff, including fleet and terminal managers, drivers, dispatchers, administrative personal and managers including hiring, termination, performance management, development, training, and work assignment and follow-up in accordance with HR policies, practices and procedures and company standards.
Manages internal fleet assets for JMN including the approval of all fleet equipment acquisitions, maintenance, and dispositions.
Determines utilization of internal resources (drivers and fleet equipment) and directs and approves all deployment and assignment of such within the company to meet business demands.
Based on service and financial analysis, determines, directs and approves optimal transportation strategies including all use of 3rd party carriers, fleet dispatch terminals, and multiple day routes.
Ability to travel not more that 25% of the time

Education/
Experience:
B.S degree in Business Management or a related discipline is required
7 - 10 years of proven Operations management/leadership experience working in the automotive transportation industry
Extensive knowledge of all types of applicable transportation equipment and various uses and capabilities
Thorough knowledge of DOT regulations as well as RCRA regulations

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
