Process Engineer
Mancan is currently looking for a Process Engineer
General Requirements: Requires a motivated, decisive individual with the ability to work within schedule and budget constraints with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate can work well in project teams and can communicate technically with other team members. In addition the following traits are desired:
Technical knowledge including formal training at an accredited college or university
Used to taking ownership of the work assigned and make decisions.
Must be disciplined and deadline oriented.
Able to manage priorities and work independently.
Able to manage several projects and work in a fast paced environment with tight schedules and deadlines is a must.
Able to work collaboratively with employees of all levels within the organization.
It would be beneficial for the candidate to be comfortable with metric and SI dimensions as work is done on both the domestic and international markets.
Available to travel domestically and internationally, as required
Professional attitude and strong communication skills.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Specification and selection of the proper chemical process for a particular application
Performing process calculations to determine the key parameters for the design of the engineered system (tank capacity, pipe line size, pump size, heat exchanger capacity,)
Oversee the development of system P&ID's
Technical review of mechanical design drawings to verify compliance with the P&ID's and insure system performance
Specification of instrumentation type and range that will properly monitor and control the chemical process.
Writing the Process Description and Functional Description
Review of the system design to insure proper fail safe operation
Technical presentation and participation in design reviews to the end user
Qualifications
Masters/Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
2-5 years' experience as a Process Engineer involving industrial chemical processes related to surface treatment of metal or waste water treatment in an industrial metal processing facility.
Extensive experience and proficiency in PC skills utilizing MS Office.
Moderate proficiency with AutoDesk AutoCAD and Inventor
Experience in AutoDesk P&ID design software is a plus but is not required.
