Position
Summary:
An licensed independent healthcare practitioner who accepts the responsibility and accountability for the assignment by American Surgical Professionals to perform the duties of first and/or second assistant to the attending surgeon/physician performing the surgical procedure, within the scope of practice of Non-Physician Surgical Assistant as defined in the delineation of privileges, including but not limited to, identification of anatomical landmarks, securing blood vessels, recognizing pathological situations and furnishing and securing an adequate and proper exposure of the operative field and performing whatever duties delegated to him/her by the operating surgeon.
Requirements:
1. Has been awarded at least bachelor's degree at a four-year institution of higher education and:
-an accredited surgical physician assistant program that is approved by the State Physician Assistant Board for purposes of physician assistant licensure
2. A minimum of two years of practice in the U.S. in the capacity of surgical assistant is preferred. Experience MUST be in the scope of the OR, not clinical
3. Current hands-on BLS certification by American Heart Association.
4. Current Certification through American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), or National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), or other state recognized board certifying agency.
5. State Licensure required and regulatory board certification mandatory
Knowledgeable in the use of:
o Specific equipment needed per procedure
o Assisting in moving and positioning the patient per surgeon's directive
o Inserting and removal of Foley urinary bladder catheter per surgeon's directive
o Placing the pneumatic tourniquet per surgeon's directive
o Confirming procedure in the documentation and with surgeon
o Draping the patient within the surgeon's guidelines
o Providing retraction of tissue and organs for optimal visualization with regard to tissue type and appropriate retraction instrument and/or technique per surgeon's directive
o Assisting in maintaining hemostasis by direct pressure, using and applying of appropriate surgical instrument for the task, placement of ties, placement of
ligatures, applying chemical hemostatic agents, or other measures as directed by the surgeon
o Using the electrocautery mono and bi-polar per surgeon's directive
o Clamping, ligation and cutting of tissue per surgeon's directive
o Harvesting saphenous vein including skin incision per surgeon's directive
o Closing of all wound layers (fascia, subcutaneous and skin) as per surgeon's directive
o Inserting drainage tubes per surgeon's directive
o Selecting and applying wound dressing per surgeon's directive
o Performing any other duties or procedures incidental to the surgical procedure deemed necessary and directed by the surgeon

Position could possibly covert to a full time opportunity for the right person.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
