Product Manager

This Product Manager will oversee and direct global control valve marketing requirements of the Flowserve rotary control valve portfolio, including defining the limits and boundaries of all products in all possible applications.
The Product Manager will assist in creating a Rotary Control Valve Center of Excellence and building a support team.
Accountabilities o The Manager is responsible to oversee definition, development and maintenance of global rotary control valve product portfolio.
o Create, define and maintain product roadmaps.
o Balance tactical immediate needs with long term strategic goals of the portfolio to maximize the benefits of growth and Sales.
o Identify product gaps in our portfolio and create plans to fill the voids, execute the planso Work with sales, engineering and operations to oversee the strategic vision and development of the portfolio.
o Assist Engineering team in prioritizing development efforts.
o Assist Engineering in preparation for Gate reviews.
o Develop MRDs (Marketing Requirements Documents).
o Act as a product expert and/or product resource in providing directiono Assist with new product development to insure MRD targets are met.
o Owns documentation.
o Direct development and revision of literature.
o Own the data required to build and maintain the Flowserve web site.
o Create and develop tools required by the Sales team to solve and win rotary valve applications.
o Travel domestically and internationally to support, train, coordinate and promote the portfolio with Sales, Operations and customers on product and how to apply them in applications.
o Develop and execute training of Sales on the features and benefits of the rotary product portfolio including the application envelope of the products.
o Own the portfolio implantation and associated rules in Performance.
Assist Engineering as needed in their ownership of performance data.
o The Manager is responsible to work Sales Leads, assisting in critical Sales efforts.
o Assist Sales in landing critical orders.
o Assists the local sales teams in application problem solving and troubleshooting rotary applicationso Assist Sales with critical customer negotiations and trainingo This Manager will be expected to travel domestically and internationally as assigned to assist in critical Sales efforts.
o This Manager will publish application updates as required.
o This Manager will develop competitive analysis of target competitors.
o Working with Sales, provide SWOT analysis our competitions products, capabilities and operationso Working with Sales, in targeted industries, analyze the industry applications and develop SWOT and gap analysis.
o Analyze potential acquisitions for suitability, product overlap and develop integration plans before the purchase Position Requirements o (4) Year engineering degree required (Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing or Electrical) Minimum of 10 years' experience in application engineering, engineering, product management and rotary control valves applications.
Demonstrate application expertise.
Excellent reputation, with the ability to influence change and direction throughout the sector/division.
Excellent relationship with the sales, engineering and operations teams and their interactions that result in the ability to deliver correctly and on time.
Has a proven track record of operating successfully in a global matrix organization with clear and demonstrable data based process orientation.
o Extensive global experience is required.
Proven track record of success in the global market arena and willing to travel internationallyo Product expertise with rotary control valve applications for use in high range Cv, liquids, slurry's and gasses.
o Proven project management experience with history of successful project completion o Experience with the quoting process for control valves including technical, T&Cs and commercial conditions & application engineeringo Understand P&ID's and the application of our products into the customer's environment and an ability to communicate on this level.
o Experience with managing large international contractors:
(Examples:
KBR, MWK, Bechtel, JGC, Technip, etc)o Experience with market segmentation, developing and implementing product roadmaps, establishment of product pricing, understand competitor pricing and implementing global product support programs.
o Experience with DCS, SIS, PAM and other vertical systems (HART, FFB, and Analog).
Knowledge of Honeywell, Emerson, AMS, Yokogawa, Foxboro, and other vertical systems is desirable.
o Technical knowledge of both our products and our competitor's products:
Product performance and specificationso Application of products to specific market applications and processes from the P&ID'so Product troubleshooting and problem solving abilityo Excellent communication skills both oral and written o Detail oriented, deadline driven, customer focused, a strategic thinker and problem solver with strong analytical skillso Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
o Foreign language skills are strongly desirableo Understand the Continuous Improvement Process (CIP).
o Proven MS Excel, Word, Project and Power Point skills.
o Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe Acrobat skills are desirable Percentage of Approximate Travel Required 15%.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
