JOB VACANCY
POSITION: CUSTODIAN
LOCATION: COLUMBIA CITY HEAD START
HOURS: MUST BE AVAILABLE 3:30-8:30 P.M. MONDAY-THURSDAY
AND 7:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. FRIDAYS (8 hrs per week)
STARTING SALARY RANGE: $9.12

JOB DUTIES:
1. Maintain cleanliness of building internally and grounds externally at all times.
2. Place salt on sidewalks when icy conditions exist and shovel snow when needed.
3. Maintain adequate reserve of cleaning and restroom supplies.
4. Set up and take down chairs and tables for scheduled functions when requested and move equipment as requested.
5. Assume responsibility for own personal professional development including attending meetings and trainings, and maintaining the appropriate competencies and abilities as required by the position.
6. Attend and positively participate at all staff meetings, in CANI improvement processes, and professional development trainings as required.
7. Adhere to CANI personnel policies, EEO/AA requirements, fiscal procedures and all other workplace rules.
8. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, manager or VP of Early Childrens Services.

SKILLS AND
Qualifications:
1. Visual skills required for this position.
2. Manual dexterity, involving standing, bending and walking.
3. Auditory and verbal skills required for communication with clients, staff and the public.
4. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and use the dolly to move heavier loads.
5. High School diploma or equivalent.
6. Two years of experience working in the area of custodial work and/or building maintenance preferred.
7. Ability to work with minimal supervision, self-motivated, attentive to detail, organized, cooperative, productive, reliable, flexible and dependable.
8. Must become First Aid and CPR qualified within twelve (12) months of employment.
9. When driving for CANI, the employee must have a valid Indiana drivers license and must maintain minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 on auto insurance.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
