West Publishing Corp. seeks a full-time Lead Database Administrator in Media, PA.

Job Duties:
1. Migrate data from legacy systems to new production systems.
2. Perform data analysis; write migration scripts; and design SSIS packages to migrate data from different data sources.
3. Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server 2005/2008 software and related products.
4. Design tables and views.
5. Perform database tuning and performance monitoring.
6. Lead the analysis and design of complex database solutions and requirements definition. Perform logical/physical data modeling and lead data migration efforts.
7. Develop, modify, test and implement complex database application modules from multiple systems using disciplined software development processes.
8. Translate technical and business requirements into physical installations.
9. Drive continual process and quality improvements.
10. Develop extensive documentation of all stored procedures in support of onshore and offshore front-end development/Data migration teams.
11. Resolve root cause of database problems. Ongoing review and completion of trouble tickets related to the database systems .Provide specialist technical guidance and advice.
12. Lead the analysis and design of complex database solutions. Perform analysis to translate database objects and software between various versions of Oracle and their counterparts contained in Microsoft SQL Server.
Position Requirements:
A bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, IT or related discipline and 5 years of progressive experience in database administration.
Experience must include the following, which may be gained concurrently:
1. 5 years of experience in design, administration, development and support of Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008/2012
2. 5 years of experience migrating data from heterogeneous legacy systems to new production systems.
3. 1 year of experience in design, administration, development and support of Oracle 11g and 12c.
4. Experience in delivering complex database solutions as per business requirements
5. Experience in onshore/offshore process definition and control, quality control through design/script reviews, identify future roadmap and opportunities.
6. Experience in database problem diagnosis and resolution.
