The Junior Quality Engineer has multiple responsibilities to ensure that the manufacturing process is in compliance to produce the product that meets or exceeds customer expectations. The engineer will assist with the implementation of a comprehensive quality management system, and to support quality objectives of the company. The ideal candidate is a fast learner who can handle multiple projects and work well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
Participate in random inspections of assemblies at each work center to verify compliance to workmanship, drawing/BOM/special instructions
Randomly examine production documents (router/Traveler) to ensure that all assembly, inspecting, and testing steps were performed as required (check assemblies for inspection and test stamps)
Review product nonconformance in production to determine cause and prevention. Follow up on feedback loop with Production Manager and Production Engineer to determine if process/document changes were implemented
Monitor ESD compliance throughout production, stock room and shipping
Participate in production readiness reviews (in the absence of the Director of Quality (DOQ) and Quality Engineer)
Verify that test documents used by the test technicians are of the latest revision.
Verify that results written on test records by the Test Technician is within tolerance and all required boxes are completed
Verify that all assembly drawings used in production match the revision identified on the Traveler and operators understand the notes
Perform random checks on equipment maintenance logs to ensure maintenance is taken place at defined intervals
Support the DOQ with the follow-up on corrective actions to determine implementation
Support the DOQ perform periodic audits of production processes against procedures
Support the DOQ on verifying compliance to the FOD program and the Counterfeit Parts Prevention Plan
Required education, experience and attributes of a successful candidate
Certificate/or AA degree in Engineering (preferably Quality Engineering)
Experience in quality assurance and control will be advantageous
Experience working in a production environment with practical process control experience
Possess strong statistical and analytical skills
Experience interpreting blueprints, Bill-Of-Materials, data sheets and test reports
Must have strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
Possess good interpersonal, communication and auditing skills
Proactive, independent and self-motivated
Certified Internal Auditor ISO13485, ISO 9001-2008, AS9100Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
