An international manufacturer of automotive components near Blacksburg, VA is looking for a Quality Engineer to lead the quality improvement program for a small, but growing plant. The Quality Engineer will be a primary contact person to key clients and he or she will lead quality and process improvement projects. One of the main responsibilities is the management of the Root Cause Corrective Action process, including the resolution of customer complaints and internal quality issues. The Quality Engineer must be familiar with statistics, SQC, SPC, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, APQP, PPAP, document control, mistake-proofing and internal auditing. Certification in any of these areas is a plus. A Bachelors degree from an accredited university is required, along with at least 2 years of recent quality engineering experience in a busy manufacturing plant. Metal fabrication (stamping, laser cutting, plasma cutting, machining, etc) is preferred. Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills are absolutely required for this position.
