Note :In-state travel is required for this position. This position requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.). Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.
The Division of Child Support Services, (DCSS) provides services to custodial and non-custodial parents to establish paternity, establish orders, reviews orders for modification based on economic circumstances and enforces orders for support. DCSS collects and processes in excess of $680,000,000 in child support collections annually.
The person in this position will work under general supervision from the Florence Office Manager in the application of child support services rules, regulations, policies and procedures. The person in this position will determine appropriate work methods and remedies within established judicial, quasi-judicial or administrative guidelines. The person in this position will interview individuals who are parties to the case; perform the full-range of journey level duties associated with child support services activities; collect, compile and refer evidence for litigation; locates absent parents to collect and enforce child support obligations/ payments; reviews and analyzes case files; determines appropriate legal actions to be initiated; collects pertinent documents and information; drafts correspondence; interviews individuals who are parties to the case; communicates with various judicial jurisdictions; establishes and enforces child support orders; prepares and files pleadings for court actions; negotiate stipulations and settlements for attorney approval; assists in providing technical assistance to others; may act as a lead worker. The person in this position will assist the Division in meeting its performance measures and is responsible for the quality and timeliness of work products, courtesy and effectiveness in provision of child support services to clients, absent parents, state agencies and judicial entities. The person in this position will need to be Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Knowledge of : computer software applications; interviewing techniques and investigative procedures; state and federal regulations, rules and policies governing child support or family law, legal assisting, administrative and judicial court practices or collections.
Skill in : child support collections or credit, bill or account collections; working to convince people who owe money to pay; working with past due accounts; experience with written or phone contact to talk about nonpayment; experience tracing and locating debtors; interviewing contacts: working with people who have financial difficulties to work out a payment schedule; reading and interpreting legal or written documents, court orders; analyzing and interpreting data; automated accounts or case management systems; communicating billing cycles, account status and actions taken to electronically receive, disburse and distribute payments; customer service, interpersonal relationships; building and maintaining professional work relationships; understanding and meeting performance measures; prioritizing duties, managing competing deadlines and meeting timelines.
Ability to : Obtain and maintain an Arizona Driver's License; meet performance measures; meet competing priorities; learn the child support services automated case management system; collaborate with others; work independently with established guidelines and follow set policies and procedures as related to job duties to ensure timeliness, data reliability and accuracy.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
