Our customer, located in Windsor Locks, CT, is looking for an IT Project Manager. This individual would be responsible for providing Project Management on a project that involves migrating unstructured data to a secure network based storage solution, while working with the support of external vendors. The ideal candidate would possess extensive project management experience working across IT related projects.
Roles and responsibilities include:
Facilitate the definition of project goals and tasks: resolve or assist in the resolution of conflicts within and between project or functional areas; develop methods to monitor project or area progress.
Facilitate the definition of service levels and customer requirements. Interact regularly with customer's business leaders to determine their needs and to develop plans achieving project delivery targets. Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes as required to complete the project on time.
Follow a defined, agreed upon project management methodology.
Present oral and written reports defining plans, problems and resolutions to appropriate levels of management.
Thorough understanding of project management phases, techniques and tools:
Initiate
Prepare: definition, scope, requirements, etc.
Execute & Control: scope, work plans, resources, deliverables, Q/A, transition planning, status reporting, etc.
Close: completion and assessment
Strong and tested project management skills, including sponsor and risk management
Understand the nature of our customer's business and provide realistic expectations; establish specific customer satisfaction standards and actively monitor client satisfaction.
Recognize problems or situations that are new or without clear precedent. Evaluate alternatives and find solutions using a systematic, multi-step approach.
Understand how and when to make a choice; how and when to escalate issues to higher levels. Analyzes the risks and future impact of decisions.
Convey project goals and objectives clearly and in a compelling manner; listen effectively and clarify information as needed; produce clear status reports; communicate tactfully and candidly.
Pro-actively engage present and future stakeholders in design, priority setting and implementation.
