Job Description
This position is responsible for supporting the operation of a team of technical forensic specialists in support of a government agency mission. The QA Specialist will assist in the quality assurance plan and quality assurance surveillance plan implementation in a technical electronics materials lab environment. Will monitor activities for compliance with established processes and procedures and implement the lab safety program. Work is performed as part of an integrated government and contractor team and will require establishing and monitoring metrics for the QA program performance. Will require ability to work closely with customer and contractor management and implementers to produce desired attainment of performance requirements to achieve quality and safety goals.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Reviews established processes, procedures and products for compliance with quality assurance controls
Supports QA lead to develop, administer, operate, manage and maintain a Quality Assurance program, consistent with the customer requirements
Assure aspects of the technical exploitation program Quality Assurance, quality control and proficiency testing practices are sound and within established quality assurance program guidelines
Conduct audit of proficiency testing program
Recommend implementation of preventive measures and corrective action to ensure non-recurrence of deficiencies
Monitors trends on both forensic and technical labs for indications of process deficiencies
Reviews personnel training program and records for implementation, adequacy and recommends improvement areas
Conducts periodic audits of processes for compliance and consistency
Audits equipment calibration program periodically
Audits reports and other products for compliance against established standard
Provide monthly reports on QA and safety reports
Job Requirements
Clearance Required:
Active DOD TOP SECRET
Education/
Experience:
Baccalaureate degree in Computer Information Systems or other applicable major from an accredited university or college
5 years experience in Quality Assurance in an accredited forensic laboratory
Skills must include:
Familiarity with forensic and technical exploitation disciplines associated scientific theory, principles and practices.
Familiar with criminal justice system rules of evidence and familiar with applicable federal policies and procedures
Possesses strong observation skills and is capable problem-solver.
Excellent communicator who canensure compliance with established processes and procedures and identify and communicate deviations.
