Summary:
Responsible for all planning and operational activities related to Emergency Management readiness and response.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as the EHS Emergency Management Officer as defined by Joint Commission standards.
Oversees and assures compliance with the Emergency Management standards pursuant to accreditation standards (including Joint Commission), and all local, state and federal Emergency Preparedness regulations, policies, guidance and best practices.
Develops, maintains and drills the Incident Command System for the organization.
Coordinates and monitors internal and external disaster drills.
Ensures that the system-wide Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) is up to date and effective, including all reporting, drills, and hazard vulnerability analyses.
Assures the summaries of these activities and after action reports are conveyed to the appropriate committees, and ultimately the Governing Body.
Maintains an updated and functional Healthcare HICS activation structure for the organization, and educates and drills implementation as appropriate.
Serves as primary EM resource for Administrator On-Call group, including during HICS Command Center activations and drill activations, supports effective orientation and education to Command Center participants.
Assists departments, units and programs system-wide in developing, understanding and effectively operationalizing the emergency management plans specifically applicable to them, and their roles and responsibilities in the overall organizational EOP.
Coordinates and oversees training for all levels of personnel on emergency disaster response.
Chairs the Emergency Management Committee, responsible for preparing agendas, ensuring appropriate meeting content, presiding over meetings and recording minutes. Coordinates the activities of the Emergency Management Committee with the Environment of Care Patient Safety Committee and other groups as appropriate.
Serves as liaison for the Emergency Management activities of the organization with internal and external departments and agencies, proactively developing relationships and ensuring effective collaboration and coordination.
Coordinates efforts and activities with the EHS Safety Officer.
Oversees planning, budget tracking and expenditures of EM Grant Funding in collaboration with the Director of Risk Management
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor s Degree, preferably in Emergency Management, or related field. Master s preferred.
Experience:
Previoushealthcare environmental emergency management or occupational health experience required. Prior experience in healthcare safety program development, administration and education preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
Valid Driver s License required. CSP (Certified Safety Professional), or CHSP (Certified Healthcare Safety Professional), CHEP certification preferred. The following progression is preferred over tenure, if not attained already: HSEEP Program, HSEEP Evaluator, FEMA IS-100.HC, FEMA IS-200, FEMA IS-700, and FEMA IS-800.
Software/Hardware:
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint required. Familiarity with WebEOC preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
