Yahoo currently has a Software Development Engineer, Systems position available at our office in Sunnyvale, CA. Duties: Design, build, implement, modify, test, debug and deploy software systems, large-scale infrastructure platforms and network services that are the foundation of multiple Yahoo properties and applications. Responsible for performance, reliability, availability, scalability and security. Services are delivered to applications through standard and proprietary protocols and behavior may be customized via complete APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and/or web services.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field and 2 years of experience in job offered or a computer-related occupation.
Education or Experience must include:
1. 2 years of relevant development experience, with focus on back-end development.
2. Object-oriented Java programming.
3. Using Web servers and databases such as Apache, Tomcat, and MySQL on Linux.
4. Database design and implementation fundamentals.
5. Debugging and testing skills.
6. Experience with Apache Hadoop and PIG scripts.
