Responsibilities
Coordinates, organizes, distributes, and tracks lab procedures in the Brody Outpatient collection site. Triages personnel to assure the daily functions are carried out in an efficient manner. Assures that courier runs are done as assigned. Tracks specimen collection and receipt of specimens received from other clinic locations. Coordinates the implementation and organization of workload during computer downtime. Follows up on problems/concerns that arise from specimen collection and/or specimen distribution.
Answers detailed questions about types of laboratory tests, specimen requirements, turnaround times and other laboratory/hospital services.
Serves in the absence of assistant manager/manager for Clinical Support. Assist with resolving questions/problems. Able to handle reference lab complications/questions. Assists in securing staff to cover staffing shortages. Can assess schedule and make recommendations on the number of staff needed and who should be contacted. Assures that personnel problems such as abuse of meal/break periods are documented and reported for follow up. Provides documentation for employee appraisals.
Orders/maintains adequate supplies to ensure efficient operation of the department. Can perform inventory and place supply orders as assigned. Records supplies distributed to clinics.
Performs duties of a Laboratory Support Technician I and Health Services Accounts Representative as per composite.
Demonstrates high level of skill as well as sound judgment. -Serves as a resource for all duties performed. -Trains/orients new staff and completes documentation for file. -Responsible for training new employees in all areas of the Brody Outpatient services provided by the Clinical laboratory. -Documents training/skill level progress appropriately. Explains procedures and checks work to insure accuracy.
Minimum Position Requirements
College Degree (4 yrs) required
PREFERRED Major: Medical Technology
Related work
Experience: At least three (3) years Clinical Laboratory experience in a hospital, clinic, or Commercial referral laboratory.
Two additional years of experience in Medical Technology may be substituted for two years of the required education.

Full-time. Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm Monday - Friday (other hours as needed)
