Job Description Summary
Maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment and minimizing downtimes. (Preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and improvements).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, improvements, requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; etc., following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
Troubleshoot malfunctions. Determine causes of operating errors and decide what to do about it.
Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; etc., examining form and texture of parts.
Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, straightedges, etc.
Construct parts or fabricate repair parts by using machine shop, instrumentation and equipment.
Help for supplying inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
Advice management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Communicate with supervisors, peers or subordinates. Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by phone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
Comply with safety precautions, utilizing extreme care when milling and turning parts.
Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality and work-rule requirements.
Use the CMMS tool as required.
Perform maintenance related welding and plumbing.
Follows all Safety Rules and procedures by working safely and ensuring safety of others.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.

The employee must frequently must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds while performing duties. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in non-weather related wet humid conditions, in proximity to fumes or air-borne particles, and near sources of electric shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Working Conditions
Work is performed largely in a manufacturing environment. Hours of work will generally be at least 40 hours a week. At times there will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines and other concerns.

Protective Equipment
Employees must wear FR rated uniform, safety glasses, slip resistant steel toe safety footwear, protective gloves, a hair net, Tyvex apron, and ear protection, as required.
Requires High School diploma or equivalent.
Education generally equivalent to 1 to 3 years of trades training in machining techniques preferred.
3 to 5 years of experience in machining and equipment repair techniques preferred.
Ability to understand oral and written instructions.
Requires ability to read and understand blueprints and repair orders.
Requires good mechanical aptitude.
Requires ability to operate a variety of machining equipment such as a milling machine, lathe, surface grinder, and precision measuring instruments. Also, requires the ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools, and a welder and cutting torch.
Requires ability to function as a team member and contribute to group goals.
Requires good oral communication skills to effectively deal with coworkers and supervisors.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
