POSITION PURPOSE:
Leads team members to identify, manage, and execute the plant's process improvement opportunities; Manages production staff to attain safety, production and quality goals. Identifies problems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolves issues; Ensures production resources, including materials, equipment and human resources, are available as needed to maintain production schedules; Supports continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost and customer service; Responsible for managing and owning various functions of the business and creating an engaged and team oriented work force in order to improve business results; Supervise, plan, and direct production of ConAgra Frozen Foods products on various individual production lines/areas to produce products safely and consistent with designed quality to meet plant objectives.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Food Safety & Quality.
Responsible for food safety and quality.
Shall complete an orientation process which provides training in the Key Concepts of Food Safety and Quality.
Shall understand that identification of any failures in these areas is their responsibility
If they identify a deficiency in Food Safety and/or Quality, they are responsible for taking corrective action and reporting the issue to their direct supervisor or Quality supervisor.
The Quality Manual is available to this employee on the shared Marshall Network drive.
Monitor production work methods to manage overall product to meet USDA and quality objectives.
1. Efficiency.
Assign work force efficiently according to production schedule and within Labor Agreement compliance.
Manage the ordering of supplies, ingredients, and equipment to maintain a consistent operation.
1. Personnel Development.
Promote teamwork to achieve Company's goals and objectives.
Train, motivate, and direct line employees for safe, effective, and efficient performance.
Recognize good performance and take corrective action when needed.
1. Compliance.
Maintain a good working relationship with USDA and Quality Assurance.
Coordinate teamwork efforts for a quality product within company specifications.
Ensure compliance with plant policies by administering corrective action in a timely manner.
1. Safety.
Monitor operations of the lines and submit work orders as appropriate to ensure the safety of the employees.
Monitor and train respective employees in established safe work procedures.
Enforce the plant's safety program.
Participate in and support all safety programs.
1. Recordkeeping.
Report daily production usage and line performance.
Coordinate efforts with payroll to assure accurate time and attendance.
PRINCIPAL CHALLENGES/COMPLEXITY:
Meeting daily production goals while maintaining quality, complying with USDA, Quality Assurance, and OSHA requirements, and other regulatory issues common to the food industry; Dealing with and managing frequent changes in production schedules and other regulatory rules, daily absenteeism, and mechanical breakdowns; Supervising large production areas within guidelines set forth by Company policies; Performing these challenges while maintaining a safe and efficient operation.
SUPERVISORY
Responsibilities:
Directly supervises 10 to 150 employees in the Production Department; Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
LATITUDE/DIMENSIONS:
Authority for manning and starting times of subordinates; issue discipline as needed; ordering ingredients and supplies; line shutdowns and authorizing time off for employees in accordance with Company policies; Refers to Quality Control for guidance regarding major quality issues, to the Maintenance Department on major repairs, and to the Human Resources Department on major disciplinary action while keeping the Shift Superintendent informed of present matters and disposition of aged items.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND
Experience:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, a minimum of four years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees; Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs; Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions; CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred but not essential to the performance of this job; Will possess the ability to utilize personal computers and relevant software.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms, and taste and smell. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
