_Position
Summary:_
Responsible for checking all ingredients for correct part number, lot number, expiration date and quantity and uses forklift to transport ingredients to mezzanine area. Charges blender with ingredients following explicit directions on batch record procedure.
_
Responsibilities:_
Pull raw materials from warehouse for stage product accountability.
Blends ingredients following explicit directions on batch record procedures and discharges into super sacks (up to 1,000 kilos); weighs to ensure correct weight/volume, and uses fork lift to transport sacks to compressing area.
Apply Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to Stage, Charge and Yield products.
Makes appropriate entries onto batch records, labels and log books ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Ensures cleanliness of blending equipment and blending room to required standards by using small hand tools to disassemble equipment and cleaning as necessary; and thoroughly cleaning the walls, floors and all other fixtures in the blending room using standard cleaning tools and cleansing agents.
Blends/wet mixes ingredients by operating collette granulator, prepares solutions and trays product for drying according to written procedures and standard operating procedures.
Uses oscillator/comminutor to granulate and comminute product to appropriate particle size.
Operates sieve analysis machine to test particle size; tests moisture level in product to ensure its integrity and compliance with set standards.
o subdivides bulk product for outside sales in accordance with instructions.

o maintains a variety of written records on cleaning, checking, and product batches as required by the FDA and Pharmavite procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
_Minimum
Qualifications:_
_Education:_
Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.
_Certification:_
Requires forklift certification within six months of attaining position.
_
Experience:_
Requires three months of manufacturing experience. Prior experience as a production machine operator or utility worker or similar work is preferred. A complete working knowledge of the blending operation is preferred.
_
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:_
Manual dexterity to manipulate controls of blending and other equipment
Physical ability to work on feet for a full shift, regularly lift and carry heavy containers, and perform all duties of job in a safe manner
Physical ability to bend and scoop large quantities of tablets from container and dump into hopper above head levels; and to work on feet for a full eight hour shift
English communication skills to maintain routine written logs and records, communicate with supervisors and others and read batch records, operating instructions, and safety regulations
_Physical Requirements:_
Stand and often walk up and down stairs for the full work shift, with little/no flexibility to move from the work station. Perform repetitive job duties for long periods of time. Push/pull/lift/carry heavy containers of product regularly throughout shift. Safely operate a fork lift and pallet jack in congested areas
_Environment:_
Constant exposure to noise levels loud enough to require employees wear hearing protection. Warm to hot temperature levels, fumes, vibration, dust, etc., sufficient to cause minor to major discomfort. The employee to wear protective eye wear, hair net, uniforms, safety shoes, gloves, back support (if desired) and, at times, dust masks or half mask respirators.

The incumbent must be able to perform this job safely in accordance with standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices, without endangering the health or safety of self or others.
