_ _ _JOB PURPOSE:_
Complete tasks as assigned in the shipping department with the guidance of the supervisor to ensure optimal performance while maintaining safety, environmental, and quality standards. Assist and support supervisor in work planning, scheduling, and assignments within the departments.

Responsibilities:_ _ _
_ _Prepare documentation for outbound shipments_ _
_ _Monitor progress of truck and rail car loading_ _
_ _Check trucks and boxcars to ensure proper loading_ _
_ _Verify all loads shipped are loaded with the correct product and properly documented_ _
_ _Release bill of ladings to invoicing _ _
_ _Generate daily inventory reports and distribute as needed_ _
_ _Generate weekly metric reports_ _
_ _Back-up trainer for unit appearance_ _
_ _Communicate with sales and supervisors on a daily basis_ _
_ _Assign ready dates for shipments and release shipped orders daily_ _
_ _Assist in the weekly production schedule with supervisor, plant manager, superintendent and sales group_ _
_ _Take weekly and monthly inventory, generate reports and distribute as needed._ _
_ _Assist with entering work orders_ _
_ _Assist with audit unit appearance, coordinate with lab, millwrights, and electricians in the event of any problems associated with production _ _
_ _Identify hot loads and or trash products; properly log the amount of trash and instruct other personnel where to dispose of the product. Ensure hot loads that are outside are brought back inside and are either downgraded or returned to the finishing end of production._ _
_ _Ensure finished and unfinished product is placed in the correct rows. Also, ensure all rows are properly condensed and tagged. _ _
_ _Ensure all forklifts are accounted for and serviceable. Coordinate any and all repairs required to mobile mechanic. Ensure all forklift drivers perform check sheets before driving._ _
_ _Fill in and/or provide breaks in case of a personnel shortage_ _
_ _Ensure area cleanliness_ _
_ _Assist supervisor with training and supervision of employees_ _
_ _Perform safety audits of shipping area_ _
_ _Back-up for morning safety meetings._ _
_ _Ensure all personnel are following all safety procedures_ _
_ _Performs all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations_ _
_ _Performs other assigned responsibilities as needed_ _
_ _Assist with ordering, maintaining and inventory of raw materials_ _

_ _High School Diploma or equivalent_ _
_ _Ability to operate SAP computer system_ _
_ _Good computer word processing and spreadsheet skills_ _
_ _Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations_ _
_ _Ability to write clear, understandable reports and shipping orders_ _
_ _Good written and oral communication skills_ _
_ _Basic math skills_ _
_ _Excellent phone skills_ _
_ _Good decision making, organizational and team building skills_ _
_ _Certified forklift operator_ _
