Description:
Local tri-state manufacturer of medical electrical power safety and wire management systems is looking for a qualified addition to our Engineering Team. This full-time, salaried position reports directly to the Vice President of Engineering. This is a key position within our growing organization, with responsibility for development of new product designs, as well as sustaining existing designs throughout their life cycle including: implementing design improvements, managing component obsolescence, assisting in vendor selection, ensuring UL compliance, updating technical literature, and providing knowledgeable technical support to inside and outside customers.
Products include: hospital isolated power systems, power distribution panelboards, isolation transformers, specialized leakage current monitors and sensors, custom device level communication and control networks, power quality components, and engineered wire management raceway systems.
Responsibilities
Design and development of analog and digital electronic circuits including: schematics, component selection, board layout, prototyping, and testing
Micro-processor firmware development including architecture design, coding, and verification testing
Coordinate internal design activities with various external contract design vendors
Create and maintain all applicable documentation (drawings, BOM, test procedures, instruction manuals, etc.)
Secure and maintain appropriate international product certifications (UL, CE, etc.)
Identify and develop relevant design consultant and supplier partners
Work in cross-functional teams along with members of sales, marketing, production, and quality departments to ensure commercial success of new products
Application engineering of custom hospital power systems
Provide training and technical support for product specifiers, installers, and end users
Failure analysis and disposition of related non-conformances
May require travel (up to 10%25) including international
Qualifications
Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent experience required
Minimum 5-7 years experience designing and/or manufacturing electronic equipment including hardware and firmware is required
Experience with Digital Signal Processing is a plus
Individual must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrate a proven track record of successful and on-time project completion
Successful candidate must possess strong communication and organizational skills
Strong computer skills including: MicroChip Design Tools, C, SQL, AutoCAD, and MS Office suite
