Description/Job Summary
SUMMARY
Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type, and value of full goods and raw materials stocked in establishment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Counts full goods and raw materials in stock and posts totals to inventory records.
Utilizes office Personal Computer to compute raw materials received and used, credits, print variance journals for all products and transmit required reports to host computer.
Compares inventories to office records or computes figures from records such as orders and purchase in-voices to obtain current inventory.
Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of full goods and raw materials and computes inventory balance, price, and cost.
Prepares reports such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages.
Prepares list of depleted items and identifies breakage, pilferage and defective or unusable items.
Cross trains (gives and receives) to provide effective backup for other office administrative tasks.
Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or other supervisor at any time.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situa-tions to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percent-ages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
None.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, dia-gram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Proficiency in using Personal Computer word processing and spreadsheet software application programs and custom mainframe software programs.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
