Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, you will research, plan, design, and document electrical and electromechanical products and systems in the production of generation equipment. Your duties will also include: direct and coordinate the activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation and repair of electrical or electromechanical components. Also, due to the nature of the position minimal travel and the ability to work non-traditional hours is required.
Essential
Responsibilities:
Document new, current, and changes to and current electrical assembly builds
Develop electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods; soliciting observations from operators
Research and design code compliant products for the power generation industry with an emphasis on user safety, reliability and environmental durability.
Confirm system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods
Assist in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment and development of methods and procedures for testing products or systems
Assure designing testing methods; testing finished product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installing components
Select raw materials and components; develop specifications for products
Develop cost estimates based on specifications
Management of compliance and testing to NEC, CSA, UL, NFPA and other third party regulator standards.

Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Provide information by answering questions and requests with respect to products and components
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and providing expertise
Practice safe work habits, following safety guidelines and support company safety initiatives
Basic
Qualifications:
Associates degree in electrical engineering and 5 years of direct experience preferred
Working knowledge of computer aided drawing systems
Demonstrated project management skills
Proven abilities troubleshooting technical issues
Working knowledge of electrical systems, diesel engines, and sheet metal structure
Developed computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel as well as other project planning tools
Ability to read, write, and troubleshoot blueprints, circuitry and wiring diagrams
Proven abilities to work in an environment with shifting priorities and moving deadlines
Demonstrated experience working across functional teams
Additional Skills Preferred:
BSEE degree preferred
Experience with generators a plus
Experience with Solidworks and AutoCAD (or equivalent) preferred
