How do I make a difference?
Providing Incredible, Knowledge Based Customer Service
Proactively approach customers at the counter, weigh and package prepared items as requested, answer questions about products, offer suggestions for meal solutions and respond with a sense of urgency
Utilize resources to increase knowledge of products and practices by connecting with team leaders and department managers and recognizing how featured items and themes tie into the department, particularly regarding Menu magazine
Ensuring High Quality Products & Ingredients
Follow Wegmans Guiding Principles and department job aides to consistently prepare quality products that meet Wegmans standards
Assist team members set-up and maintain Prepared Foods stations by ensuring products are well-merchandised, signs are properly displayed, product levels are maintained throughout the day, and supplies are organized to quickly and efficiently perform tasks
Perform closing procedures, including cleaning stations, storing prepared food to maintain freshness & quality, and leaving the department ready for tasks to take place efficiently the next morning
Properly handle products, use equipment, keep accurate logs and follow sanitation practices in accordance with food and human safety guidelines and Simplification 5S procedures

Possess culinary knife skills
Food preparation experience
Customer service experience, preferably in a food service, restaurant, grocery or retail setting
Work Environment
Work involves continuous interaction with customers and co-workers in a fast-paced environment
Typical motions include repetitive hand and arm movements, bending and reaching
Responsible for moving and lifting an average of 5 - 20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 50 pounds rarely
May be exposed to various allergens and work environments, including temperature changes
Tasks will be performed using and in the proximity of coolers, ovens, stoves and other hot equipment; cooking and kitchen utensils and equipment
Will be required to spend the majority of time on his or her feet and stand or walk without a break for up to 4 hours
